Matt's Inside Line:Spoiler
Will Once Upon a Time explain how Mulan and Aurora helped Philip get his soul back from the wraith, before they found an injured Baelfire?
In a word, kinda. “We’ll hint at it, but we probably aren’t going to show that [back]story for a while,” says cocreator Eddy Kitsis. For one, it’s not like Neal has reason to raise it as a conversation topic. But more importantly, Kitsis explains, “One of the things about Season 3 is we’ve really tried to focus on the core characters, including the six people on that boat and Neal. We do eventually want to get to that [Philip/wraith] story, but we’re coming out of the gate with the people on that boat.”
Is there any way that Once Upon a Time‘s Ariel and Regina already met? Assuming that the “certain mermaid” Regina referred to in Episode 1×12, “Skin Deep,” was Ariel?
I suspect you are onto something, though cocreator Adam Horowitz will only say that “we might” flash back to that aforementioned encounter during JoAnna Garcia’s turn as the Little Mermaid.
Last year, OUAT ran a one-hour special to recap the season before the new season starts. Do you know if they will be doing that again? –Bernadette
Yes, they shall. Once Upon a Time: Journey to Neverland will air Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7/6c, leading into the Season 3 opener.

Look What i got!!!
Update on Once Upon A Time – First Six Episodes
Season 2 ended on quite a cliffhanger with Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin), Charming (Josh Dallas), Regina (Lana Parrilla) & Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle), all aboard the Jolly Roger captained by none other than Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) himself, as they sailed through a portal – arriving in Neverland to try and find Emma’s son Henry (Jared Gilmore) who was captured on orders by Peter Pan (Robbie Kay)
Meanwhile most of the characters are still in Storybrooke, as Gold left Belle (Emilie De Ravin) in charge. With Gold’s son Baelfire/ Neal (Michael Raymond James) back in Fairytale Land together with Aurora (Sarah Bolger), Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Prince Phillip (Julian Morris).
The Jolly Roger gang are bound to face their own set of challenges and adventures during the first episode. While we may find out a little bit more about why Tamara and Greg brought Henry to Peter Pan. Did Peter know, Rumplestiltskin would come and save his grandson?
Episode 2 Lost Girl
Thanks to TV Line, we know that this will be a Snow / Charming centric episode. We’ll find out how Regina reacted when she found out that Snow was awakened from the sleeping curse.“Who first told her?” (Adam Horowitz)
As the Genie (Giancarlo Esposito )is set for a return as the Mirror, there’s a good chance he might have broken the news to the Evil Queen.
Episode 3 Quite a Common Fairy
It’s been confirmed that this episode will focus on Tinkerbell’s (Rose McIver) origin, featuring The Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy). Sadly it looks like Amy Acker won’t be able to return as Nova for this episode. (Amy has been made a regular in Person of Interest) During Comic-Con and other twitter chats it has been firmly established that Tinkerbell, has a complicated relationship with Captain Hook / Killian Jones (Colin O’Donoghue) and one other character…which could be Rumple or Regina (Lana Parrilla).
Episode 4 Nasty Habits
Not much information has been given yet. Maybe the episode will follow the theme of the fairies? It could feature Rumplestiltskin – Mr.Gold (Robert Carlyle) and the fairies of Storybrooke, who as we all remember were nuns during the curse. Perhaps we’ll see multiple back flash moments of how Rumplestiltskin made a deal with the fairies – going back and forth between the Dark One and Mr.Gold?
Episode 5 Good Form
This episode will feature the highly anticipated back story of Captain Hook – Killian Jones. Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis already teased that we would learn how Killian became a pirate. Which would imply seeing the scene where his father abandons him at the docks, when he was a child.
Episode 6 Ariel
The Little Mermaid has been cast with JoAnna Garcia as Ariel. TV Line confirmed that Prince Eric is in the process of being cast and won’t be a character we’ve already met.
Edward Kitsis said about Ariel:
“She’s somebody who wants to see the world. That spirit will run in her DNA still, but we’ll meet her in a surprising way.”There are many theories about Ariel, some mention she could well be Killian’s mother, which would most definitely be a surprising spin! Naturally everyone is wondering who will play Ursula – will it be Regina?
Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis talked to TV Line about what we can really expect from the Neverland Season (first 11 episodes).
Eddy Kitsis:
“Neverland as a Season is like one giant movie. And like any adventure movie, there’s romance, there are things that are terrifying, and there are things that are heartbreaking. That was always our goal, to have that big, summer movie feel. Promising a mix of uplift, romance, action and quieter moments”Adam Horowitz:
“The best kind of roller coaster is the one that goes through all of that stuff.”Neverland arc as an epic adventure movie? We like that a lot! Plenty of adventures to be had aboard the Jolly Roger, while sailing round Neverland and meeting lots of new characters. Meeting Peter Pan will most definitely be a highlight, as well as finding out why Pan has such a terrifying affect on some of the Jolly Roger gang.
Rumplestiltskin mentioned he can’t survive a head on confrontation with Pan – unless maybe he turns back into the Dark One? Then again Horowitz and Kitsis said that the undoing of the Dark One in the prophecy, isn’t necessarily a bad thing… Will be very interesting to see what will happen!
As for romance, there’ll definitely be more RumBelle as well as Snowing, and it does look like Robin Hood might be the new love interest of Regina. As we’re bound to see Ariel, and Eric is being cast, we can assume that they’ll be a new couple on Once Upon A Time – unless they put such a spin on things that they’ve somehow drifted apart. Remember anything is possible!
The CaptainSwan shippers are getting really excited to see if Emma will indeed ‘hook up’ with Killian Jones. There’s a strong possibility there, but at the same time there’s always Neal in the background. One thing is for sure there’ll be plenty of angst and drama…

Mega Buzz:Spoilers
NATALIE: Though the Charmings and their foes are working together to rescue Henry, the real question you may want to ask yourself is what happens to Henry if and when they do save him? Does he go home with Emma, Snow and Charming? Or does the Evil Queen have other ideas about his future? First, though, they'll have to figure out why Peter Pan even wants Henry. "In the first few episodes, you're going to start realizing what he wants Henry for, but like any good mystery, you won't know the whole picture until you watch the whole 11 episodes," executive producer Edward Kitsis says.
Ask Ausiello: Spoilers
Ausiello: Yes, and thus yes. As mom and daughter brave Neverland together while still adjusting to their family dynamic, “In a lot of ways, Mary Margaret may not be able to bond with Emma, but Bandit Snow and Emma have a lot in common,” notes cocreator Eddy Kitsis. Meaning, going up against Peter Pan and his Lost Boys will bring bow-toting Snow to the fore. “David and Mary Margaret last year were saying, ‘We are both,’” Kitsis reminds. “But this year it’s, ‘We need Snow and Charming.’ That’s what this mission requires.”

The monsters' got a brand new look!
Once Upon a Time Season 3 filming is well underway, and the cast and crew have all dropped a few hints about what to expect. Thus far, everything has been Neverland-centric, but one star showed off what’s happening in Storybrooke.
The most exciting part isn’t the sneak peek — it’s who is shown in it! Though we haven’t seen this person on the show for a while, we’ve crossed our fingers that he’d return. From the looks of it, he’s back and better than ever, though something has definitely changed.
“Silhouette of me. What have I done to my head?? Only time will tell. #OnceUponATime,” David Anders (Dr. Whale) tweeted on August 23. It appears that his head is shaved, which could be for either present-day Storybrooke or his time as Dr. Frankenstein in another twisted realm.
Either way, this confirms that he will, indeed, return to the hit ABC fairy tale drama. We speculated this when he wrapped USA Network’s Necessary Roughness back in July, but it’s great to see him on set to confirm.
Last we saw Dr. Whale, things weren’t so great for him. Hopefully this new look will benefit him — perhaps debuting a new look to impress the ladies? Now that Ruby is gone (Meghan Ory is now starring on CBS’ Intelligence), who will he make howl?

Lions, Tigers, and Bears. oh, my!!!
Once Upon a Time has traveled to many different lands in its two seasons, but will the cast be following the Yellow Brick Road anytime soon? Show bosses Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis spilled the magic beans on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’s potential future on the show recently, and we don’t know how to feel.
Considering there are two different Oz-themed shows in the works — SyFy’s Warriors of Oz post-apocalyptic series and CBS’ Dorothy medical drama — it seems like the wrong time to add a third to the mix. Adam and Eddy dished to TVLine that Neverland is their focus now and they “don’t really feel the pressure” to explore another land.
“We’ve always loved Oz — we’ve talked about it, we’ve hinted at it,” Adam noted. “And if and when we get to it, we have the way we want to do it.”
In true OUAT fashion, that means putting their own spin on the classic tale and “trying to do something new to it without reinventing the wheel.”
It sounds like we can all breathe easy that we won’t be juggling Oz with Storybrooke, The Enchanted Forest, Neverland, and Wonderland (in the spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) — at least not this season. But hey, we wouldn’t mind seeing Dorothy & Co. waltz into at least one of our current realms, especially if it means Toto shows up. C’mon, Pongo needs at least one animal friend, right?

Matt's Inside Line:Spoilers
During my long, in-depth Fall Preview chat with the series’ creators, Eddy Kitsis excitedly touted Season 3’s 11-episode trip to Neverland “as its own season, like one giant movie. And like any adventure movie, there’s romance, there are things that are terrifying, and there are things that are heartbreaking. That was always our goal, to have that big, summer movie feel.” Promising a mix of “uplift, romance, action and quieter moments,” Adam Horowitz added, “The best kind of roller coaster is the one that goes through all of that stuff.”
On Once Upon a Time, magic always comes with a price, so did the magic that Robin Hood used to heal Marian come with a price? –Mirza
Damn straight it did. ‘“There’s a price — and a debt,” Adam Horowitz teases of Sean Maguire’s upcoming, Fairytale Land-based arc as the Prince of Thieves.

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Once,Ep 6 Title
Ausiello: Matt Mitovich just got off the horn with series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, and they caught us up on some of the backstory gaps that will be filled in via flashbacks during Season 3. Episode 2 is Snow/Charming-centric, covering the time between the former’s awakening from the sleep curse and when they encountered Regina on the battlefield. “How did the queen react to that? And who first told her?” Horowitz wonders. Episode 3 will relate Tinkerbell’s origin, featuring The Blue Fairy (but not Amy Acker’s Nova) and addressing the question: “What makes a fairy?” Also on tap for fall is a new chunk of Rumple’s past, the tale of how Hook became a pirate and the self-explanatory Episode 6, titled “Ariel” (and yes, Eric is being cast/will not be an existing character).
Question: I’d like some Once Upon a Time in Wonderland scoop, please. —Mason
Ausiello: The Once spin-off will, in its third episode, sic no less than Beowulf‘s Grendel on Alice and The Knave. Envisioned (via an actor in prosthetics) as a “large, warted, ogre-like beast,” the cannibalistic Grendel will pose a mortal threat to

Spoiler Once Upon a Time in Wonderland - Episode 1.01 Down The Rabbit Hole - Review / Recap
The pilot opens with Rumpelstiltskin letting the wraith into Storybrooke as seen in the Season 2 premiere of Once Upon a Time. We see the Charming family looking out the door of Mr Gold's Pawn Shop wondering what is going on outside. We then cross the street where a mysterious man makes his way into Granny's Diner. He is stopped by a character that we are all familiar with. Leroy / Grumpy yells at the mysterious man to help save Storybrooke as it is under attack. The man replies with "I don't help anyone" and continues to make his way into the diner. Once inside he makes himself a cup of coffee. As he takes his first sip, the ground begins to tremble. All of a sudden a portal opens and a white rabbit pops out. The man demands to know what the rabbit is doing there but the Rabbit says that he will tell him on the way as they are late. The man argues that he isn't going anywhere. After a quick argument the White Rabbit says "Alice, she needs help. You're the Knave of Hearts. She needs you" so he agrees to go.
We then flash to the Bethlem Asylum in London. Alice is lead into a room with three doctors. The one in the middle seems to be the one that does all the talking. He asks Alice if she remembers why she is there. Alice claims that she doesn't remember but the doctor doesn't buy it. He then starts to reminded her about about an invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar, food & drink that is capable of changing ones size and a murderous red queen. He says that she experienced all this by falling down a rabbit hole. He asks Alice is she now agrees that the whole idea is ridiculous and she does. He then says that she can be sent home after she answers a few questions. The first one was whether she still believes Wonderland to be real.
The scene then cuts as we find ourselves in a flashback to Wonderland. Alice grabs a handful of mushroom. The hookah smoking Caterpillar yells at her to give it back. Alice is then chased into a maze by the queens guards. She puts something into her mouth (most likely the piece of mushroom that she just stole) and begins to shrink. She gets knocked knocked off her foot as she is almost trod on by a guard.
Now we are back in the office in the Asylum. It is apparent that Alice is daydreaming as she wasn't answering the doctors question. He starts banging on the table saying her name. She opens her mouth and confesses that none of it was true. The doctor asks what really happened. A little girl who had adventures in Wonderland or a young lady who says that it was all in her imagination? Alice replies that she was a fool when she was younger and she now knows what really happened.
Again we flashback to Wonderland. Alice picks herself up off the ground and hides in a genie bottle that happens to be lying next to her. This is when we meet Cyrus. He questions Alice about why she is in his house. Alice threatens to drink her potion and turn big again which will effectively destroy his house if he turns her in to the guards. Cyrus laughs this off and tells her that his house is her house.
Back in the office, the doctor asks Alice where she really was when all of this was supposedly happening. Alice says that she was with a friend.
There is a reference to Agrabah when we return to Wonderland. Alice tells Cyrus that her father doesn't believe her about Wonderland so she had come back for proof. She pulls a talking hare out of her bag. Cyrus gives a speech to Alice about how one doesn't need proof if they really love someone. They can feel it. He then goes on to ask Alice what her three wishes are as she found his bottle.
Once again we return to the asylum office. The doctor tells Alice that she needs to participate if she wishes to be released. Alice snaps that she doesn't wish for anything. The doctor asks her if this had anything to do with the genie that she believes she fell in love with. Is she ready be admit that was a lie too?
We then flash forward in the flashback. Alice and Cyrus are standing on a cliff surrounded by some sort of waterish-fireish substance. Cyrus admits his love to Alice and gets down to propose. Alice immediately accepts. Cyrus pulls out his heart shaped necklace. It glows red as he tells her that it will always glow when the pair are near each other. Their happiness doesn't last long. We hear footsteps and Cyrus tells Alice to run.
Back in present day the doctor reminds Alice that she said the love of her life was murdered. Alice tries to interrupt but the doctor tells her that she was an ignored little girl who made a fantasy land but grew up believing that it was real. Alice starts to cry as she says that she doesn't believe it anymore. The doctor doesn't believe her because she still cries out for Cyrus in her sleep.
Back in Wonderland the footsteps are revealed to be the the Red Queen's guards. The Red Queen follows behind them. It is obvious that she wants something. A fight breaks out. It is here that we find out that Alice knows how to fight. Together Cyrus and Alice take out all the guards. The Red Queen doesn't seem to be too happy about this so she waves her hand and Cyrus goes flying over a cliff into the water below. Alice watches on in horror.
The doctor tells Alice that they have a new procedure that can make her forget everything. Alice asks if it will hurt. He replies that yes, it will hurt a little but it will be far worse than the pain she is currently in. Alice thinks about this for a moment and then signs the contract that the doctor hands her.
That night Alice wakes up to a weird noise outside the cell. The door opens and who should appear but the Knave of Hearts! She refuses to believe that he is real. The asylum guards arrive to take him away. He puts up a fight trying to get her to believe. As he is dragged out the cell, he calls out that Cyrus is alive and that the White Rabbit saw him. This is what causes Alice to believe he is real. She then gets into another fight with all five guards (she even snaps one of their necks using just her legs)! The Knave watches with a smile on his face.
The pair make their way down to what appears to be somewhere under the Asylum. They meet the White Rabbit who once again informs them that they are late. Alice tells him that to him everyone is late. The Rabbit tells her that he does have high standards and that he finds the Asylum disgusting. Alice asks the Rabbit if it is true that he saw Cyrus. To Alice's disappointment the Rabbit replies no but he did find his heart necklace. He says that nothing can survive the boiling sea so if it survived, so did he. Alice takes the necklace and puts it up against her chest. She then tells the Rabbit to open up the portal. The Rabbit takes out some chalk and draws a circle on the wall. A blue portal appears and the Rabbit jumps in. Alice asks if the Knave is coming with them but he says no. Alice begs him because she won't be able to find Cyrus alone. Eventually, after Alice reminds him that she helped him get back his heart once, he agrees to go. The episode ends with Cyrus saying "Next Stop Wonderland" as the two hold hands and jump into the portal.
Although it was only the 19 minute presentation, I really liked what this episode had to offer. The cameo by Lee Arenberg was a nice surprise to fans of the mother show. It will be interesting to see who else we might see if they decide to extend the Storybrooke scene in the full episode.
I felt that the flashbacks were perfectly positioned. My only complaint was that the doctor tells us what happened to Cyrus before it was actually shown. I feel as if it would have had more of an impact if it was shown first.
Sophie Lowe is the best Alice I have seen yet. I was worried that she would be stiff after seeing the trailer but I am happy to say that I was surprised by her performance. She made me believe that she was worried about what would happen if she was caught lying.
Although Emma Rigby only had about 1 minute screen time, she definitely stole the spotlight in that one scene she was in. I look forward to seeing more of the character when the full 42 minute episode airs.
When I first heard that Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz were developing a spin-off I was hesitant about the whole idea. But after viewing this presentation, I am glad that they did. I just hope that the rest of the series remains the same in terms of quality. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Lana Parrilla spills some beans... some "magic beans" that is :-D
According to Lana Parrilla, her Evil Queen and the rest of the Storybrooke gang traveling to Neverland will encounter a pod of finned creatures who are “beautiful, full-bodied and not the nicest mermaids. They’re more like sirens.”
Trying to be on her very best behavior, Regina/Evil Queen will find a surprising love connection in the third episode — perhaps with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), who will appear on both Once and its Wonderland spinoff. “Regina’s love has to be very manly, and Robin Hood is that,” Parrilla says. “I’m getting very excited.” (Alas, she shouldn’t get too excited, since producers tell me this romance will take a tragic turn.
Mermaids and Romance Ahead on Once Upon a Time
Before Ariel's highly anticipated arrival next season on Once Upon a Time, other mermaids will make a splash on the ABC hit's Season 3 premiere. But unlike Ariel, these are nasty little fishies. According to Lana Parrilla, her Evil Queen and the rest of the Storybrooke gang traveling to Neverland will encounter a pod of finned creatures who are "beautiful, full-bodied and not the nicest mermaids. They're more like sirens."
Trying to be on her very best behavior, Regina/Evil Queen will find a surprising love connection in the third episode — perhaps with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), who will appear on both Once and its Wonderland spinoff. "Regina's love has to be very manly, and Robin Hood is that," Parrilla says. "I'm getting very excited." (Alas, she shouldn't get too excited, since producers tell me this romance will take a tragic turn.)
Also expect to learn the origins of Tinker Bell, the Blue Fairy and fairy Nova. And while Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) are separated in different lands, "Rumbelle" shippers will be treated to what de Ravin calls "a dreamlike reunion/interaction between Mr. Gold and Belle," with the possibility of Belle soon joining her lost love in Neverland. But will they live happily ever after?

Once Upon A Time & Wonderland - Latest from D23 Expo Spoiler
Attendees at Disney's fan extravaganza also were treated to the 19-minute presentation previously screened at Comic-Con.
The upcoming season finds the ABC drama's heroes and villains traveling from Storybrooke to Neverland to retrieve Henry (Jared S. Gilmore). The clip featured Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) given an ominous warning from one of Peter Pan's lost boys, showing viewers that this is not going to be same Pan from children's bedtime stories.
"When Rumplestiltskin lets us know he is someone to be frightened of, I am frightened," co-creator Edward Kitsis told D23 attendees during the panel. "Neverland is the heart of darkness, but they're going into it to save Henry."
Added co-creator Adam Horowitz: "We're putting our own spin on it. It's a little different than what's been seen before."
Season three will be split into two batches of 11 episodes, with the first half focusing primarily on Neverland. Of the season three overarching theme, Horowitz said that while season one was about the characters not knowing their real identity and season two was about them remembering, season three will be about them getting "back to their true selves. What better place then Neverland, where everything is stripped away, for them to confront who they are?"
Meanwhile, the creators also teased romantic sparks between Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and insight, via flashbacks, into how Hook became a pirate.
Belle (Emilie de Ravin) also will return, and the show will introduce Ariel. The creators added that Ursula also is likely to appear -- "but you never know because on the show you never know who is the real Ursula," said Kitsis -- and there is also "a good chance of seeing a guy named Eric," added Horowitz, referring to Ariel's prince beau.
Horowitz and Kitsis also revealed that on their wish list of characters to incorporate into the show is Rapunzel.
"The key is when and how to honor the character and bring something new," Horowitz said.
Meanwhile, D23 attendees also got a look at the 19-minute pilot presentation for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, the OUAT spinoff that debuts in October. (It's the same one that was screened at Comic-Con in July.)
Wonderland follows a young Alice (Sophie Lowe) in Victorian London who tells of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. Like OUAT, Wonderland will feature flashbacks that give more insight into the characters. Unlike OUAT, the first season will feature a complete story arc.
"It will be much like a movie, or like how they went on one mission in Star Trek, and another year it was another mission," Kitsis said.
As for their decision to create an entirely new character -- Alice's love interest, the genie Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) -- the creators likened it to OUAT's Emma, who also was an entirely new creation.
"Alice was curious enough to follow a rabbit into a hole," Kitsis said. "Naturally she would fall in love with a genie -- he's seen many lives, worlds and places. People ruin their lives for wishes. So they're kindred spirits."
While Wonderland is meant to stand on its own -- meaning people new to OUAT need not have seen that show -- OUAT fans will be treated to "crumbs sprinkled" throughout the series, teased Horowitz.

Matt's Inside Line: Scoop on Once
You may be wondering, as I was, why Once‘s Peter Pan is a force “we all should fear”? (Or was Rumple overselling it?) “There’s a history between those two,” series cocreator Adam Horowitz affirms. “There is a big reason why he said if you’re going to be scared of someone, this is the guy to be scared of.” But there is also a degree of professional respect. “When you meet Pan, you’re going to see a very, very, very clever person,” says Eddy Kitsis. “And if there’s one thing Rumple admires, it’s somebody who has game.”
Please help us, we are all dying here! What else can you say about Regina’s new love interest/”special someone” on Once Upon a Time? –Ana
Fine, fine. I doubled back with the boys and Horowitz said that this “someone” “becomes a part of the show very quickly” – within the first five episodes – “but in a way that you don’t expect.”

Lightning Round 8: Once Upon a Time Bosses Answer Your Burning Questions
Will Emma get some magic lessons from Regina in Neverland? Does Ariel have a connection to one of our favorite characters?
With Once Upon a Time returning for its third season on Sunday, Sept. 29 (8/7c on ABC), TVGuide.com decided it's time for our eighth Lightning Round with the brain trust behind ABC's fairy-tale drama, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.
Lightning Round 7: Once Upon a Time bosses answer your burning questions
We grabbed your fan questions off Twitter and hit up Horowitz and Kitsis for a quick round of scoop, in which the producers had the option to answer, "Yes," "No" or "Can't Answer." Some of their answers, and possible non-answers, are pretty telling, so check them out below:
Will we find out why or how Peter Pan obtained the drawing of Henry?
Adam Horowitz: Yes.
Is your Rufio the same as Hook's version of Rufio?
Horowitz: Rufio belongs to another take on the Pan thing. We're not using that character that was created by another world, but we are making a loving nod towards a movie and a mythology that we enjoy. Hook was a movie that we saw when we were younger.
Kitsis: Everyone has great respect for that movie in the [writers'] room and you realize collectively everyone grew up loving that movie.
Horowitz: We wanted to give the fans a little nod to that. So, if you look closely, I think you might get a nice, fun nod.
Are we finally going to see how Regina (Lana Parrilla) adopted Henry (Jared Gilmore)?
Kitsis and Horowitz: Yes!
Will Regina get a love interest?
Horowitz: Yes.
Kitsis: Will she chose to love is another question.
Can the Charmings really trust their enemies?
Horowitz: Can't answer.
Will Ariel have a connection to our group?
Horowitz: Yes.
Once Upon a Time heads to Neverland, welcomes Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Ariel!
Will Emma (Jennifer Morrison) get magic lessons from Regina?
Horowitz: Can't answer.
Will there be a way to communicate between Neverland and Storybrooke?
Horowitz: Ooo!
Kitsis: Can't answer.
Horowitz: Good question, though!
Will there be a new mayor in Storybrooke?
Kitsis: I'm not sure that the municipality of Storybrooke is what is first and foremost on the minds of the citizens.
Horowitz: We've seen a lot of Twitter fire about maybe Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will be mayor. She's comptroller while everyone is gone. [Laughs]
Will we see Wendy Darling (Freya Tingley) again?
Kitsis: Perhaps.
Once Upon a Time spin-off tells different Wonderland tale
Will we find out who wrote the fairy tale book?
Horowitz: Can't answer.
Might the group split up when they get to Neverland?
Horowitz and Kitsis: Can't answer.
Will Rumple (Robert Carlyle) revert to his old self physically in Neverland?
Kitsis: You never know with the Dark One.
Horowitz: Being in Neverland will have a profound effect on all the characters, including Rumple.
Will we actually see the Land of Oz this season?
Kitsis: Perhaps.
Horowitz: Let's talk about that question in December.
Kitsis: Not in the first pod of episodes.
Once Upon a Time returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8/7c on ABC.
Once Upon a Time Heads to Neverland, Welcomes Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Ariel!
The cast and creative minds behind Once Upon a Time were on handSaturday at the show's Comic-Con panel to tease the upcoming Neverland-centric third season.
The show went back into production two weeks ago, with the cast shooting on the Jolly Roger as their characters head to Neverland in search of Henry (Jared Gilmore), who was kidnapped by Greg (Ethan Embry) and Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) in the season finale. While the cast joked that they're having a good time on the Jolly Roger, Kitsis noted the characters might not be having as much fun.
Get the latest Comic-Con news
We'll finally get to see Neverland in Season 3 as the series brings the Jolly Roger crew into murky waters in the presence of Peter Pan, who has not yet been cast. "It is a fantastical island," executive producer Edward Kitsis said. "It's the place where imagination comes from, so it's the place where anything can happen."
Ominously, Peter Pan's Lost Boys had a sketch of Henry, who the man in charge has been searching for over the last few centuries. "Peter Pan has a complicated motivation," executive producerAdam Horowitz said. Kitsis added: "He might be frightening for some people."
Additionally, we'll also meet Tinker Bell this season, but the fans must believe to see her! "It's taking the icon and putting our spin on it," Horowitz notes of the character. "How we introduce her,and who she is, is hopefully going to be surprising because we're going to find she has a surprising connection to someone at this table."
As the group fights their way to Neverland, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) will be have a hard time as she attempts to fix her blackened heart. "Now, it's a matter of finding again who she is," Goodwin says. Unfortunately, the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) is along for the ride — and though she planned to sacrifice herself in the finale, she may not have turned completely good. (Parrilla noted that her favorite kill on the series is coming in Season 3.)
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland taps Naveen Andrews as Jafar and more scoop from Comic-Con
Meanwhile, Bae (Michael Raymond-James) fell through the portal in the Enchanted Forest and was last seen clinging onto life. Will he be saved? "He's had a rough go, but it's getting better," James said. Kitsis noted that the last thing Bae did was tell Emma (Jennifer Morrison) he loved her. "Unfortunately for him, Emma is with Captain Hook [Colin O'Donoghue]," Kitsis says. Though O'Donoghue said it may be time for Hook to get over Milah, Joshua Dallasquickly interjected, "Not with my daughter."
Back in Storybrooke, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will apparently holddown the fort, but don't expect the stories to be completely separate. "What's happening back in Storybrooke and what's happening in Neverland, we're going to find are connected in a surprising way," Horowitz said. Kitsis also noted that Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) is on a suicide mission since the prophecy says he has to sacrifice himself to save Henry, which is why he left Belle behind so he can face his death alone.
Additionally, fans were treated to a sneak preview of the upcoming season, which featured Grumpy (Lee Arenberg) sitting down to have lunch on Storybrooke's coast when his fork mysteriously went missing. It was stolen by a mischievous mermaid with flaming red hair. Welcome to Once, Ariel!
Once Upon a Time returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8/7c on ABC.
Wonderland Bosses Talk Pilot's 'Missing' Scenes, Solve Scheduling Mystery, Share Mad Hatter Plan
After Alice breaks out of the asylum into which her father had her committed, “We’re going to actually go [back] into Wonderland” in that first episode, cocreator Eddy Kitsis explained Sunday at the Television Critics Assoc. press tour in Beverly Hills. There, “You are going to meet Jafar (played by Lost‘s Naveen Andrews), get more of the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) and get more a sense of that world.”
Co-showrunner Adam Horowitz meanwhile clarified the scheduling plan for what he and Kitsis dubbed a “psychedelic romance,” seeing as an ABC press release suggested Wonderland would finale by the time the reality series The Quest claims Thursday’s lead-off spot on Jan. 2.
Working off an order of currently 13 episodes, he said, “The plan would be to tell a whole string of episodes in the fall, and then we come back after The Quest to finish up the story for this season.”
Other hot topics from Wonderland‘s TCA panel:
* The plan stands to have Barbara Hershey at some point reprise her Once role as the Queen of Hearts, in flashbacks. As for Rigby’s frosty Red Queen, she will share “an uneasy alliance” with Jafar, seeing as they each have specific reasons for keeping Alice from reuniting with the genie Cyrus.
* In addition to the hookah-smoking caterpillar (again voiced by Roger Daltrey) and the White Rabbit (a series regular character voiced by John Lithgow), “You will see the Cheshire cat in the pilot,” Kitsis shared. Explaining the casting of Lithgow (who replaced Paul Reubens) as the time-conscientious bunny, Kitsis said, “John brings an incredible depth. There are layers to the character and his backstory that we want to reveal.”
* Although Sebastian Stan is in high demand and currently unavailable for an encore on either Once series, Kitsis said, “We’re never going to have a Mad Hatter not played by Sebastian.”
* The EPs explained that the events of Wonderland take place concurrently with original Once — which raises the question of how then Alice can live in Victorian England. “It’s not historical Victorian England; it’s fictional Victorian England,” Horowitz said. As with other realms visited on Once, Wendy Darling’s England, Dr. Frankenstein’s world and such “are lands of story” removed from time.

Once Upon A Time - Meghan Ory to return
The “Little Reds” of the Once Upon a Time fandom were disappointed to learn earlier this year that Meghan Ory, who had been promoted to a series regular for season 2, would not be back for the show’s third season.
After learning that her role in season 3 had been reduced to make room for the many new characters, Ory began to look elsewhere for work, and was cast opposite former Lost star Josh Holloway in the new CBS drama Intelligence.
Ory and Holloway both attended the Intelligence screening and panel earlier today at the San Diego Comic-Con, and towards the end of the panel, Ory revealed that although there are no immediate plans for her return, Once Upon a Time fans haven’t seen the last of her.
As the character has not been killed off, she will be able to return both in flashbacks as Little Red Riding Hood and in present-day Storybrooke as Ruby.
While Ruby’s storyline may have been shelved for the time being, her character is still very much a part of the Once Upon a Time universe: Red and the Huntsman are the central characters in the new Once Upon a Time comic book, The Shadow of the Queen.
Ariel is coming
Once Upon a Time - Season 3 - New Robin Hood Cast
Someone has made like the Prince of Thieves and “stolen” the role of Robin Hood for Once Upon a Time Season 3.
With Merlin‘s Tom Ellis, as previously reported, unavailable to return to the role he played in the Belle-centric Season 2 episode “Lacey,” fellow Brit Sean Maguire will play the character for a recurring arc,
Tinker Bell has been Cast
Here’s a happy thought: Once Upon a Time has just cast Tinkerbell for season 3.
Actress Rose McIver has landed the ABC hit’s take on the classic role, and will appear in multiple episodes next season.
Season 3 will spend time exploring the fantasy world of Neverland. Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have said Tinkerbell will have a surprising introduction and unlikely connection to another character. As for the mysterious role of Peter Pan, the showrunners promised fans at Comic-Con that he will be a darker and complicated version of the character — and perhaps a little frightening.
McIver has had roles in The Lovely Bones and Showtime’s upcoming Masters of Sex, and was the Yellow Bear ranger on Power Rangers RPM. For next season, Once Upon has also recast Robin Hood (with Sean Maguire filling in for Tom Ellis), booked Robbie Kay as a Lost Boy, and Giancarlo Esposito will return for an episode as The Mirror/Sidney.
One big role that has yet to be cast: Ariel, The Little Mermaid herself. Once Upon returns Sunday, Sept. 29.
