Once Upon a Time Season 3 filming is well underway, and the cast and crew have all dropped a few hints about what to expect. Thus far, everything has been Neverland-centric, but one star showed off what’s happening in Storybrooke.
The most exciting part isn’t the sneak peek — it’s who is shown in it! Though we haven’t seen this person on the show for a while, we’ve crossed our fingers that he’d return. From the looks of it, he’s back and better than ever, though something has definitely changed.
“Silhouette of me. What have I done to my head?? Only time will tell. #OnceUponATime,” David Anders (Dr. Whale) tweeted on August 23. It appears that his head is shaved, which could be for either present-day Storybrooke or his time as Dr. Frankenstein in another twisted realm.
Either way, this confirms that he will, indeed, return to the hit ABC fairy tale drama. We speculated this when he wrapped USA Network’s Necessary Roughness back in July, but it’s great to see him on set to confirm.
Last we saw Dr. Whale, things weren’t so great for him. Hopefully this new look will benefit him — perhaps debuting a new look to impress the ladies? Now that Ruby is gone (Meghan Ory is now starring on CBS’ Intelligence), who will he make howl?
